Mariano, cosa significa per te debuttare all’Arena di Verona?
È difficile esprimere a parole ciò che provo. L’Arena non è soltanto un palcoscenico: è un monumento, un simbolo vivente della nostra arte. Trovarmi lì, davanti a migliaia di persone sotto il cielo aperto, è qualcosa che ho immaginato per anni. Ora che sta diventando realtà, sento una gratitudine immensa e un grande senso di responsabilità. Questo debutto è un dono, e voglio onorarlo con tutta la mia energia e dedizione.
Sarai presente in due produzioni. Cosa significa per te questo doppio debutto?
È straordinario. Aprire la stagione con La Traviata è già un onore enorme, ma tornare ad agosto con Aida - uno dei titoli più leggendari dell’Arena - rende tutto ancora più speciale. È come essere accolto due volte in questa famiglia. Ogni opera ha la sua atmosfera, il suo mondo emotivo, e non vedo l’ora di viverli entrambi.
Il cast comprende alcuni dei più grandi nomi dell’opera di oggi. Come ti senti a condividere il palcoscenico con loro?
È incredibile. Cantare accanto ad Anna Netrebko, Ludovic Tézier, Amartuvshin Enkhbat, Roberto Alagna, Francesco Meli, Yusif Eyvazov e tanti altri è un sogno. Sono artisti che ho ammirato per anni, e ora sarò sul palco con loro, respirando la stessa energia e contribuendo con la mia voce alla stessa storia. È un’esperienza che umilia e motiva allo stesso tempo. Mi spinge a dare il massimo.
D: Cosa rappresenta questo debutto nel tuo percorso personale?
Per me è la sintesi di anni di studio, sacrificio e passione. Ho iniziato a Napoli, la mia città, e passo dopo passo ho costruito un cammino che mi ha portato fin qui. Cantare all’Arena è come un riconoscimento di questo percorso, ma anche un nuovo inizio. Non si tratta solo di arrivare: si tratta di continuare a crescere, a esplorare, a dare sempre di più alla musica e al pubblico.

Mariano, how does it feel to debut at the Arena di Verona?
It’s hard to put into words. The Arena is not just a stage - it’s a monument, a living symbol of our art. To stand there, in front of thousands of people under the open sky, is something I’ve imagined for years. Now that it’s real, I feel immense gratitude and a sense of responsibility. This debut is a gift, and I want to honor it with all my energy and dedication.
You will appear in two productions. What does this double debut mean to you?
It’s extraordinary. To open the season with La Traviata is already a huge honor, but then to return in August for Aida - one of the Arena’s most legendary titles - makes it even more special. It’s like being welcomed twice into this family. Each opera has its own atmosphere, its own emotional world, and I can’t wait to live them both.
The cast includes some of the greatest names in opera today. How do you feel about sharing the stage with them?
It’s incredible. To sing alongside Anna Netrebko, Ludovic Tézier, Amartuvshin Enkhbat, Roberto Alagna, Francesco Meli, Yusif Eyvazov, and so many others - it’s a dream. These are artists I’ve admired for years, and now I’ll be on stage with them, breathing the same energy, contributing my voice to the same story. It’s humbling, but also motivating. It pushes me to give my very best.
What does this debut represent in your personal journey?
For me, it’s a culmination of years of study, sacrifice, and passion. I started in Naples, my hometown, and step by step I’ve built a path that led me here. Singing at the Arena feels like a recognition of that journey, but also a new beginning. It’s not just about arriving - it’s about continuing to grow, to explore, to give more to the music and to the audience.
